My Story

Hello and welcome to my space! As you may have seen on the home tab, my name is Megan and my Github username is @mvperalta. I am a mental health social worker by trade but in 2022, I decided to make a career change into software engineering.

In 2017, I received my bachelor's degree in social work and in 2018, I received my master's degree in social work from Florida Atlantic University, GO OWLS! While my experience in the field of social work has been nothing short of exciting and eventful, I wanted to challenge myself in a different way. What better way than to challenge myself by learning how to code!? Please enjoy my growing portfolio, as I intend to add more projects along the way.

Projects

Below you will find examples of my work:

My bad bank is showing a functional online banking system. However, it's considered a "bad" bank because all personal data is vieweable under the 'AllData' tab.

Pacman is shown chomping away until it reaches the end of the page. It then changes it's direction and continues chomping away.

The eyes exercise we implement Javascript to animate a set of eyes. The eyes follow the movement of the cursor.

The real time bus tracker displays live data from MBTA and shows where each bus is located in the area.
